Concurrent Orientation – Summer/Fall 2008
If you are interested in attending OSU as a concurrent high school student in Fall 2008, visit your high school counselor FIRST and then move on to the following areas:
ADMISSIONS
- Begin with your high school academic counselor. Let him/her know you are interested in concurrent enrollment
- Discuss your academic standing and determine if concurrent enrollment is the best choice for you at this time.
- Go to the OSU Admissions page and read through the concurrent enrollment requirements.
- Submit your application.
ENROLLMENT
After you are admitted to the University as a concurrent high school student, your next step is New Student Orientation and enrollment.
- To schedule an appointment for orientation and coordinate with University Academic Services for advising, call 405-744-3636.
- Set up your OSU Orange Key account by clicking the "O-Key" link at the left.
- Visit the University Academic Services Web pages for concurrent students to learn about the advising process at OSU and your academic choices.
- Prepare for enrollment by thinking about the types of courses you'd like to take and begin a list of choices.
ATTENDING CLASS
- Develop sound academic expectations for your concurrent coursework and understand that the choices you make with regard to concurrent enrollment will become part of your secondary education record.
- You will need to spend additional study time for your college level course(s). This may be a good time to attend study skills workshops through the Career Resource Center.
- Stay ahead of the game. Don't procrastinate. Assignments and reading assignments build on each other and will take longer than high school assignments. Be prepared.
