Choosing Your Major:
OSU offers tremendous choices and provides professionals to help you identify academic options. Choose the college/major for you.
Academic Learning Communities & Residential Life Connections
In addition to the assistance you'll receive from your academic adviser, freshmen have many other ways to learn about their chosen major and connect with other students taking classes together.
Living and Learning Communities
All incoming freshman are required to live on campus during their first year. OSU Residential Life offers multiple options from which to choose your most appropriate living arrangement. Through the Living and Learning Community options, you may choose to live with others who have similar academic and career interests while also taking specific coursework together.
To view a list of living and learning community options, please visit the Residential Life homepage.
Learning Communities
This year, the number of academic enhancement opportunities for incoming freshmen are being expanded to include learning communities not linked to common living areas. Each new freshman will have the opportunity to join coordinated groups of learners based on college and degree area. This is your opportunity to take a set of courses with other students.
Learning communities will be discussed during the summer enrollment sessions.
