Summer/Fall 2017 students may begin registering for orientation on Wednesday, February 1st. To accommodate your needs, we offer three different types of orientation.
1. Orientation Plus (The Complete Cowboy Experience, highly recommended)
This program combines orientation and Camp Cowboy into a four-day overnight program. Orientation Plus programs benefit students and parents who would like more time to work through the enrollment process and maximize their campus experience. During the Orientation Plus Program, you will:
- Discuss your academic plan with college representatives on day 1 and officially enroll in classes on day 2
- Meet your orientation leaders in small groups
- Attend informational breakout sessions
- Participate in evening activities at the Colvin Center
- Experience on-campus housing
- Use extra time on the second day to visit other campus departments
- Attend Camp Cowboy
Check-in for Orientation Plus begins at 9 a.m. on Day 1 and the program concludes on Sunday at 1 p.m. after Camp Cowboy. Students will participate in orientation Thursday and Friday and Camp Cowboy activities Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is an additional cost for Camp Cowboy and there are a limited number of fee waivers available. For more information about Camp Cowboy, visit here.
2. Overnight Programs (recommended)
This program is similar to Orientation Plus but without Camp Cowboy. Students discuss their academic plan with college representatives on Day 1 and officially enroll in classes on Day 2. Students must attend both days. Check-in for the Overnight Program begins at 9 a.m. on Day 1 and will conclude by noon on Day 2.
Students staying overnight will have the opportunity to participate in evening activities at the Colvin Recreation. For a glimpse of the fun watch the video below.
3. One-Day Programs
If you cannot attend Orientation Plus or an Overnight Program, we offer One-Day options. One-Day programs are designed for students who have attended multiple academic campus events, are certain of their degree choice and can make decisions quickly. During this enrollment day, you will meet with your academic adviser in the afternoon to enroll for classes, while family members attend a family information session.
Check in for the One-Day Program begins at 9 a.m. The program concludes by 5 p.m.
