Before Attending Orientation...
General University:
- Housing - Complete your Residential Life housing application and contract. This needs to be done as soon as possible, especially if you are choosing to live in a Living and Learning Community. EVERY first time freshman is required to live on campus.
- O-Key - Create your Oklahoma State email account by activating your Orange Key account. You must have this completed in order to register for New Student Orientation.
- Health Forms - Fill out your health forms and either mail them back in or bring them to orientation.
- Scholarships and Financial Aid - Formally accept scholarships that have been offered via the Student Information System and be sure you have submitted your FAFSA (Federal Application for Financial Aid)
Orientation Preparation:
Create an ORIENTATION FILE with paperwork related to your admission and enrollment.Your file might include:
- Admit letter,
- Test scores from AP, CLEP, residual ACT/SAT (IF you took a residual since sending your original scores), or placement exams,
- Transcripts with credit from other colleges/universities,
- Scholarships & Financial Aid paperwork,
- Residential Life contracts you may need to turn in,
- Health Services records (print your health services form here),
- and any other paperwork related to your acceptance to OSU.
Lodging:
Make reservations if you plan to stay overnight. Contact numbers are located at: http://newstudents.okstate.edu/accommodations.htm.
Academic Preparation:
Use the resources on this site to familiarize yourself with OSU Terminology, The basic orientation & enrollment process, and Your academic advising unit and your major/college preferences. Take time to view Academic Advising Pages. Some links are worksheets for your chosen academic advising unit and others connect wtih academic home pages for gathering degree/career information.
