Oklahoma State University welcomes new freshmen each year during specialized summer sessions designed to help you learn about the opportunities ahead and prepare you for the transition you will make from high school to the University.
Whether you come from a small high school or a large one, there will still be transitions to make. You need to know what to expect and how to find the resources to meet the transition head on with the tools you need for success.
Our standard overnight orientation provides time to learn all you can about OSU, meet the people you'll see everyday, and connect with academic and student life resources who will be here in the fall to help you adjust and thrive. In addition, you'll spend extra time with academic advisers who help you map the best academic direction for you during enrollment for the fall semester.
Student orientation leaders join with University faculty, staff, and administrators to introduce you to the OSU family and the many ways you are cared for as part of our family.
When you complete orientation, you will be:
- enrolled as a student,
- assigned to an academic adviser who is here to help from this point forward,
- "official" with your student Identification card, and
- better informed about what to expect in August.
This is your first step toward academic and life long success. We lay the foundation for you... what you build on it is up to you. |
