Advice to Freshman Students: I had some lonely nights my first year of school because I said “No” to the things that I knew weren’t part of my value system. Be the person you want to be, not who others want you to be. It may be a lonely journey at first, but the payoff is that you’ll find people who truly value you for who you are. I will say, you need to go out there and find them sometimes. This means going to student organization meetings that interest you, smiling at people, and not being afraid to start a conversation.
Interests/Hobbies: Kickboxing, boxing, resistance training, Latin dancing, Faith, following dogs on Instagram, and traveling.
Interesting Fact: I search for flights to random beaches around the world and figure out when the cheapest flights leave, and then I figure out how to get there. I also watch Jean-Claude Van Damme videos in hopes of one day landing his infamous roundhouse kick.
What EMPOWER’S you? My faith. Do one more pushup, one more mile, one more minute, and then do it again. Life hits harder than the gym, so may your outer strength match your inner strength.
